THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On Senior Day:Â "Senior Day is always emotional. When you look at guys like Oli (Gingras). I still remember when he came in on a recruiting trip and he's given us some big wins throughout his four years. Even as a freshman he had major clinching wins against ranked teams. He's been solid throughout his four years in singles and doubles. He's been in the lineup in singles and doubles all four years and that's quite an achievement. He's always brought a lot of life to the team. Lucas (Gonzalez) has only been with us for three years. It's quite an accomplishment for him to be able to graduate within three years. Lucas has been solid for us. We know we can always really on Lucas. He's a very steady, strong baseline player. It's exciting to see those guys move on, but at the same time these guys know the season is not over and they're going to give everything they have to win a conference championship for us.
Â
On the matchup against UAB: "Sunday we have to get ready even though we are the favorites. UAB is always stepping up against us. They're looking forward to play us, a state rival. We have to make sure that we start strong. Last year we played them twice. First time we were in control from beginning until the end. The second time it came down to the wire. Thanks to Oli for clinching a big match last year for us. We have our number one doubles pair ranked for the first time and they're looking to improve their rankings and we're looking to finish the season on a good note and get ready for the conference tournament."
