South Alabama holds a 41-21 all-time lead over Southeastern Louisiana in a series that began in 1984. The Lions carry a three-game win streak into Tuesday's contest after defeating the Jaguars in all three matchups last season. South Alabama last defeated Southeastern Louisiana by a 2-1 margin in 2016 at Stanky Field. SLU has won eight of the last nine meetings in the series, dating back to the 2014 season. Jaguar head coach Mark Calvi is 3-9 all-time against the Lions.

The Lions carry a five-game win streak into Tuesday's contest after a pair of midweek wins over Purdue and No. 19 Mississippi State last week, and a three-game sweep of Lamar last weekend in Beaumont, Texas. SLU is hitting .272 as a team, led by Cody Grosse who is batting .367 with 23 runs scored, six doubles, nine RBIs, 10 stolen bases and a .452 OBP in 22 games played. The Lion pitching staff carries a 3.45 ERA into the game, and has struck out 174 batters against 54 walks in 198 innings pitched while limiting the opposition to a .237 batting average.

Travis Swaggerty enters Tuesday's contest with 115 career walks, which ranks seventh all-time at South Alabama. Swaggerty is two shy of passing Geoff Doggett (116) for sixth on the list, and needs seven walks to pass Luis Gonzalez (121) for fifth on the career list. Mike Warren holds the career record in walks at USA with 155, while Drew LaBounty ranks second all-time with 149 career walks.

DONOVAN AMONG NATION'S LEADERS IN WALKS
Shortstop Brendan Donovan ranks ninth nationally and third in the Sun Belt in walks (21), and 19th in the country in walks per game (1.05). Donovan carries a 14-game on-base streak into Tuesday's contest.
