THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On doubles: "We tried new doubles teams today and the chemistry was not there. We were flat and quiet. Troy took over and got louder and louder."
Â
On Cloes' start in singles: "Loic showed great leadership by quickly taking down their senior leader and tied the match 1-1. We could see how confident we became as soon as we won the first set on four courts."
Â
On what kept them in the match: "I believe we won the match today because we refused to go away on courts four and six. Oli [Gingras] demonstrated captain qualities by turning it around after losing the first set. He fought hard to come back and win the second set. Same thing with Max [Lapraille]. Those two guys refused to go away and kept us in the match. If Troy went up 3-1, it would have been a completely different match with much more pressure on the rest of the guys. It was a great team effort in a must win situation today."
