NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama senior
Tiina Trutsi has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
Trutsi picks up the award for the first time in her career.
The Tallinn, Estonia native led the team with two goals and an assist in leading the Jaguars to a 1-1 record. Both goals came from the penalty spot as she extended her streak of games with a goal to three, the longest streak by a USA player since 2015.
All five of her shots hit the target, and she assisted on USA's final goal Sunday with a nice cross that found the head of senior
Rio Hardy.
Trutsi leads the team with three goals – all from the penalty spot – and seven points. Both totals are new career highs.
