MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama Department of Athletics' 2016-17 Annual Report is now available on the school's official website, www.usajaguars.com.
 
A hard copy of the document has been sent to donors to the program as well as constituents within the university and local community, and it will also be sent via e-mail communication.  To access to the report online, individuals can click here.

In addition to highlighting the accomplishments of the department's 17 sport programs — which collectively led to the Jaguars claiming the Vic Bubas Cup, presented to the best all-around program in the Sun Belt Conference, for the third year in a row — the document includes information on academic results, student-athletes who graduated from the university in 2016-17, community service and student-athlete enrichment activities.  Updates on facilities improvements, the Jaguar Athletic Fund, the USA Athletics Hall of Fame and marketing and communications efforts can also be found in the report.

Last season saw the Jags win Sun Belt championships in soccer (regular-season and tournament) and baseball (tournament), have four individuals — from soccer, indoor and outdoor track and field, and baseball — earn All-America recognition, five all-region selections and 61 student-athletes named all-league.  Outside of competition, not only did 70 student-athletes receive their degree during the year but Jan-Louw Kotze from the men's track and field program became South's first-ever three-time Academic All-American while also picking up both the Sun Belt Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year Award and an NCAA postgraduate scholarship.
