HOUSTON – Due to the threat of Hurricane Harvey, the Barcelona HBU Classic has been cancelled. The University of South Alabama volleyball team was scheduled to open its season with three matches over two days, but tournament officials were forced to cancel the tournament due to Hurricane Harvey and its expected impact.

The Jaguars were scheduled to open the Barcelona HBU Classic with Texas Southern at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, followed by a noon contest against Houston Baptist Saturday and a 4:30 p.m. match against Texas Tech Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

South Alabama will open its 2017 season next weekend when it hosts the Jaguar Invitational. The Jags will square off with Alabama at 6 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 1, at Jag Gym to open the tournament. USA will then face McNeese State at 12:30 p.m. Sat., Sept. 2, followed by a 6:30 p.m. contest with Southern Mississippi.
