MOBILE, Ala. – In advance of the University of South Alabama volleyball program's opening weekend of the regular season, Iva Durdanovic is this week's guest on "Inside JagNation," the official podcast of Jaguar Athletics.
In this episode Durdanovic discusses expectations for the upcoming campaign, what the team worked to improve on heading into the fall and individual goals for her sophomore year. In the podcast she also talks about adjusting to collegiate volleyball after arriving at South last fall, her expectations going into her freshman season and when she realized that she would make an immediate contribution to the team. Durdanovic talks about when she began playing sports as a child and how she ended up focusing on volleyball, when she made the decision to come to the United States and the recruiting process while overseas.
Other topics in the episode include how she keeps in touch with her family, comparing her hometown to Mobile and her dreams of becoming a doctor.

As a freshman in 2016, Durdanovic appeared in 29 matches with 25 starts and recorded 287 kills, 202 digs, 34 blocks and a team-best 27 service aces; she also tied for the most double-doubles on the squad after posting five. The Belgrade, Serbia, native collected a career-high 22 kills against Georgia as well as a .448 hitting percentage in a sweep of Bethune-Cookman to be named to the all-tournament team at the Bulldog Invitational, going on to be voted the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week for those efforts.
