MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama Athletic Ticket Office announced Wednesday a partnership with Zipwhip, a Seattle-based company that text-enables landline phones.
 
This partnership will assist South Alabama Athletics in reaching and communicating with fans in a new way by allowing two-way conversational text messaging.  Zipwhip will be used by USA for in-game fan interaction, contests and pertinent updates, such as upcoming deadlines and weather/game time changes.  The current ticket office phone line (251) 461-1USA (1872) will be used as the text-enabled South Alabama Athletics number.

"Partnering with Zipwhip allows us to talk with our fans in a way that has become one of the most prominent forms of communication today, texting," said Jaguar Assistant Athletic Director/Ticket Operations Greg Keel.  "From upcoming deadline reminders to fan interaction contests to a quick update about a weather delay at baseball or softball, Zipwhip will enhance our fan engagement, retention and customer service areas."

Individuals can try Zipwhip by texting "Jags" to 251-461-1USA (1872), and those who do will receive a special introductory offer.
