MOBILE, Ala. – After remaining on campus for summer classes following her freshman season Leslie Soto is the guest this week on "Inside JagNation," the official podcast of the University of South Alabama Department of Athletics.
In this week's edition, the Santiago, Chile, resident talks about the difficulty of joining the women's tennis program in the middle of the school year — she enrolled in classes in January — as well as waiting to play with the team in practice and competition while being cleared to participate by the NCAA after arriving on campus. She discusses adjusting to the team format used on the collegiate level and her expectations for last spring, her schedule this summer and what she has focused on improving during the offseason.
Other topics of the podcast include when she began playing tennis and why, when she decided to come to the United States to further her athletic and academic pursuits, why she chose to attend South Alabama, and the differences between Mobile and Santiago.
