EUGENE, Ore. — University of South Alabama track and field student-athlete Sean Collins will be the lone Jaguar to compete on the national stage in the 2017 NCAA National Championships at Hayward Field this week.Â
"It is great to see such an outstanding young man overcome a lot of adversity and reach the NCAA Championships," head track and field coach Paul Brueske said. "Coach Aaron James did a good job of making adjustments to Sean's training in order to keep him healthy."
Collins will compete in the men's pole vault in a field of 24 of the best collegiate athletes in the event from around the country. The sophomore earned a berth in the national event after qualifying at the East Region Preliminaries.
