DURHAM, N.C. – University of South Alabama baseball sophomore Travis Swaggerty was named to the 2017 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp roster, as announced by the organization Tuesday.
Swaggerty is one of 20 training-camp players who will join 14 previously selected players in a five-game series with teams in the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League and the Coastal Plain League before the final 24-man roster is announced on Mon., June 26.
The Collegiate National team is composed of non-draft eligible players who currently play at the collegiate level. A 28-man roster will also be named by USA Baseball to compete in a series with Chinese Taipei before the final 24-man roster will play in an international series against Cuba and Japan. USA Baseball has already selected 10 members of the final roster.
