Collegiate Baseball poll
TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of South Alabama baseball team is ranked 26th in this week's
Collegiate Baseball poll, as announced by the organization Monday.
USA (36-19, 22-8 SBC) slipped one spot from last week's poll, In which it was ranked No. 25, after taking two of three games from Troy last weekend at Stanky Field. The Jaguars finished second in the SBC East Division, and will open the Sun Belt Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed Troy at 8 a.m (CT).
South Alabama is one of two SBC teams ranked in this week's
Collegiate Baseball poll, with conference champion Coastal Carolina ranked 18th this week.
The Jags are 8-2 in their last 10 games, and finished the regular season as the nation's leader in walks (326), ranked sixth in runs scored (436) and runs per game (8.2), seventh in sacrifice flies (31) and on-base percentage (.415), 24th in batting average (.304) and 25th in hits (556).
