Tiger Track Classic Schedule

Auburn, Ala. - The University of South Alabama will travel to Auburn, Ala., this weekend to compete in the Tiger Track Classic, a two-day meet held at the Hutsell-Rosen Track beginning on Friday at 2 p.m. 

"Auburn always puts on a good meet," track and field head coach Paul Brueske said. "This year should be no different. We are constantly working on refining our technique in training. Hopefully, we will bear some of the fruit of that labor this weekend." 

The Jaguars will have over 40 student-athletes compete in the Classic field that consists of 17 teams, including Sun Belt members Troy and Georgia State. 

South Alabama comes off of a weekend at another SEC meet at the Florida Relays. In Gainesville, nine Jaguars earned top-ten finishes at the Gator meet, seven of which will participate this weekend. Sean Collins, the Sun Belt Conference field athlete of the week, will also participate after posting a new league season-best mark at the Texas Relays clearing 5.35m. His mark ranks him 11th in the nation for the event.

The Tiger Track Classic will begin on Friday at 2 p.m. with the men's and women's hammer throw followed by the men's and women's javelin, triple jump, and 5,000m. Saturday is slated to begin at 11 a.m with the women's pole vault and the running events to start at noon. Live results will be available here.
