YERARDI JOINS JAGUAR VOLLEYBALL STAFF

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama volleyball head coach Amy Hendrichovsky announced the hiring of Anthony Yerardi as assistant coach on Wednesday.

Yerardi joins the program after spending the 2016 season as a volunteer assistant coach at UNLV. In his first season of collegiate coaching experience, he helped the Rebels to a first-round win over Utah in the NCAA Tournament. UNLV setter Alexis Patterson and opposite hitter Bree Hammel were named all-conference after training under Yerardi. The Rebels started the season with the best record in school history going 16-1 in the first 17 matches.

"I'm happy to have Anthony join our program," Hendrichovsky said. "Through the hiring process, Anthony's strengths and the way he looked at the game matched exactly what I was looking for in the position. I believe Anthony will make an impact on our program and assist in the growth of our team on and off the court."

Before starting at the collegiate level, Yerardi coached at BBC Las Vegas for four years, and also started his own non-profit club – Vegas Velocity – which was in its inaugural season when he accepted his position at USA. He played club volleyball in his youth for the Arizona Rage under head coach Gary Durrett, who played volleyball at BYU, and helped the Rage to two straight appearances at junior nationals.  He was also named to the all-state team in Arizona his senior year of high school as a setter.

Yerardi received a double major in English and political science from Arizona State, and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Drake University.
