Tuesday's contest will mark the 155th contest between South Alabama and New Orleans in a series that began in 1970. USA holds a 92-62 all-time series lead after the teams split a pair of games last season, with the home team winning each of those contests.

Jag Notes
• South Alabama leads the Sun Belt Conference in batting average (.349), slugging percentage (.571), on-base percentage (.469), runs scored (77), hits (88), RBI (73), triples (5) and total bases (144). USA ranks second in the league in home runs (10) and walks (46).  The Jaguar defense is tied for the league in fieldling percentage (.988) South Alabama ranks fifth nationally in OBP, sixth in runs scored, seventh in walks, triples and slugging percentage, 11th in fielding percentage, 13th in batting average and 18th in hits.

• Jaguar left-handed freshman Andy Arguelles is scheduled to make his first career start in Tuesday's contest. Arguelles has made three relief apperances this season.

• South Alabama has homered in five of its seven games this season, and has hit multiple home runs in three games this year including the last two. The Jags hit four home runs in Sunday's series finale at Baylor, marking the first time a Jaguar team has hit four in one game since April 15, 2012, at Little Rock. Adam Wolfe hit a career-high three homers and drove in a career-high five runs in Sunday's finale, and ranks second in the SBC in home runs.

• Travis Swaggerty leads the league in slugging percentage (.933) and OBP (.652), ranks second in hit by pitch (4) and third in batting average (.467).

• Eddie Paparella ranks second in the conference in batting average (.500), tied for second in RBI (11), fourth in OBP (.556), fifth in slugging percentage (.750) and tied for fifth in hits (12). 

• Will Luft is tied for the SBC lead and ranks fourth nationally in triples (2). He ranks third in the league in slugging percentage (.769), fourth in batting average (.462), and tied for fifth in runs scored (8), hits (12) and RBI (10).

• Luft carries a team-best six-game hitting streak into Tuesday's game, while Travis Swaggerty has hit safely in five consecutive games. Jared Barnes carries a three-game hitting streak into the contest. Luft leads the team with four multiple-hit games, while Wells Davis leads the squad with three multi-RBI contests.

• USA is 4-0 at Stanky Field this season. The Jags are 1-1 in night games, and 0-1 against left-handed starting pitchers.  South Alabama is 4-0 when leading after the seventh inning this season, however, the Jaguars have not recorded a save through their first seven games.

• Of South Alabama's 73 team RBI, 40 of them have come with two outs. Paparella leads the squad in two-out RBI with seven.

• USA is 4-1 when allowing five or fewer runs this year, but is 0-2 when surrendering six or more.
