• South Alabama leads the SBC in batting average (.394), slugging percentage (.596), on-base percentage (.551), runs scored (48), hits (43), RBI (44), triples (3) and hit by pitch (9), and ranks second in the league in walks (29) and tied for second in doubles (7).Â
• USA scored a school-record 32 runs in its game two win over EIU Saturday, which broke the previous record of 29 runs which came in 2013 against New Orleans at Stanky Field.
• The Jaguar pitching staff is tied for the best ERA (1.00) in the SBC, ranks second in opposing batting average (.144), runs allowed (5), earned runs allowed (3) and wins (3), tied for second in fewest walks allowed (8) and fourth in strikeouts (43).
• Cam Cummings leads the Sun Belt Conference in batting average (.625) and on-base percentage (.750), ranks tied for first in runs scored (7), tied for fourth in doubles (2) and is sixth in slugging percentage (.875). He broke a South Alabama single-game record for runs scored (6) in Saturday's 32-0 win over Eastern Illinois.
• Eddie Paparella lead the league in slugging percentage (1.100), ranks tied for first in RBI (9), second in batting average (.600) and tied for second in on-base percentage (.667) and tied for third in hits (6). Paparella tied former Jaguar Alex Pastore's single-game RBI record in the Jaguars' 32-0 win over EIU. Pastore drove in nine runs against Auburn in 1973.
• Third baseman Brendan Donovan carries a career-long seven-game hitting streak into the series. Wells Davis has hit safely in his first three games of the season.
• South Alabama is hitting .444 with runners in scoring position, and has driven in 24 runs with two outs in three games this season.Â
• The Jags recorded 10 or more hits in all three games last weekend, and drew 10 or more walks in two of those three contests.
• In its last two games the Jaguar pitching staff has allowed five hits and only one earned run in 18 innings, while recording 23 strikeouts against seven walks.
