NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama Juan Cruz Soria has been named Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the conference on Wednesday.  Selected for the first two player of the week awards handed out by the conference this spring season, Soria is the first Jaguar to earn the honor in consecutive weeks since two-time Sun Belt Player the Year Daniel Leitner did so in three-straight weeks in 2015 from March 25th-April 8th.

Soria helped South Alabama last weekend get a 6-1 victory over conference foe Georgia State and a 5-2 win against Auburn.  He won both his singles matches on court No.2 and was victorious in doubles with teammate Loic Cloes on court No. 1 against the Panthers.  Also both of his wins in singles and doubles against the Panthers were the doubles point and match clinchers in the Jags' victory.

South Alabama returns to action on Thursday with a home doubleheader at the Mobile Tennis Courts against Jacksonville State at 10:00 a.m. and Jackson State at 2:00 p.m.
