2017 AVCA Division I All-Region Teams
LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of South Alabama volleyball middle blocker Kelley Hartman earned all-American Volleyball Coaches Association honors for the 2017 season, as announced Tuesday by the organization.
Hartman received an all-Southeast honorable mention, making her the first Jaguar in program history to earn all-region honors. She was named first-team all-Sun Belt Conference this season after leading the league in blocks per set (1.29), while also finishing tied for second in hitting percentage (.321). In SBC contests, Hartman finished tied for second in blocks per set (1.15), ranked third in hitting percentage (.367) and fourth in service aces per set (0.26).
Hartman's 124 total blocks in 2017 ranks sixth in the Jaguar single-season record list, and are the most by a Jag in a single season since Sarah Richardson posted 109 in 2016. The Woodstock, Ga., native led South Alabama in kills (245), kills per set (2.55), hitting percentage (.319), solo blocks (35), block assists (89), total blocks (124) and blocks per set (1.29) in 2017.
