MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama's Jeremy Reaves officially was added to the list of individuals who have accepted their invitation to participate in the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl on Monday.
It marks the third straight season that a Jaguar has been selected to play in the contest, while he becomes the sixth member of the program to be invited to the all-star game — joining Courtney Smith, Jake Johnson, B.J. Scott, Wes Saxton and Gerald Everett — in the last eight years. This year's edition of the Reese's Senior Bowl will take place at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Jan. 27, with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 p.m. (CST).
Reaves will also play in the 93rd annual East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 20.
A four-year letterwinner from Pensacola, Fla., he concluded his career as South's all-time leader with eight interceptions, nine forced fumbles and 22 passes broken up, while his 301 total stops rank second in school history. Reaves also stands among the top 10 in the Jaguar career record books with 20½ tackles for loss and a pair of fumble recoveries.
He was named the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was a first-team all-league selection earlier this month after collecting 104 stops — with seven of those behind the line of scrimmage — three interceptions, three forced fumbles, eight additional passes defensed and a pair of recovered fumbles. Reaves paced the Jags on eight occasions in total stops and had a double-figure tackle total in five outings, sharing co-conference defensive player-of-the-week honors on Oct. 23.
After earning second-team all-Sun Belt recognition in 2015, Reaves was chosen first-team all-league as a junior.
