TIINA TRUTSI NAMED CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

AUSTIN, Texas – University of South Alabama senior Tiina Trutsi has been voted to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District ® 4 Women's Soccer Team, the organization announced Thursday.

The Tallinn, Estonia native is the fourth women's soccer student-athlete to earn that achievement, and first since Danielle Henley in 2015.

Trutsi is tied for third on the team in goals (4) and tied for second in points (12). She is a perfect 3 for 3 from the penalty spot, and recorded a three-game goal streak earlier this season.

She recorded a goal – the game winner – and an assist at Georgia Southern, and assisted the game-winning goal in double overtime at Troy.

In the classroom, Trutsi has a 4.00 grade point average majoring in sociology. She has twice been a member of the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List, for those with a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Trutsi will advance to the Academic All-America® ballot; voting results for the national award will be announced in December.
