MOBILE, Ala. – This week's guest on "Inside JagNation" — the official podcast of the University of South Alabama Department of Athletics — is Greg Keel, Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations and Fan Engagement.

In the episode Keel explains his role within the athletic department since joining the Jaguar staff as well as additional duties he has taken on since receiving his current title in August, what his schedule is on a typical day in the office, how many events he works during the course of the year and what his game-day responsibilities are.  He also discusses when he made the decision to pursue a career in athletic administration, how that affected his decision where to go to college, in what facet of athletics he worked as a student assistant and his responsibilities in that role.  Other topics of the podcast include what institution he originally applied at that led to his first job with Jaguar Athletics, what he believes played a part in being elevated to a director position within the department as well as his short- and long-term professional goals.

Originally from Statesboro, Ga., Keel first attended Georgia before earning a sport management degree — while also minoring in business administration — from Georgia Southern in 2007.  That fall he was an intern in the Eagles' athletic department, working with both game day operations and the business office, before becoming a ticket account executive at South in January 2008.  He was elevated to Director of Ticket Sales in May 2011, and a year later added responsibilities with donor relations before assuming his current role prior to the start of the academic year.
