MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team will compete in the Bulldog Classic, hosted by Samford, Friday through Sunday at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion.

Match Times: Doubles begins Friday 8:30 a.m., Singles begins Friday 11 a.m.
 
ON THE COURT FOR THE JAGUARS
-Maxine Palmen (Fr., Sittard, Netherlands)
-Alina Zolotareva (Jr., Barnaul, Russia)
-Yu Fujioka (Fr., Funabashi, Japan)
-Nikola Kohoutova (Fr., Kralupy Nad Vltavou, Czech Republic)
-Patricia Martins (Jr., Lisbon, Portugal)
-Leslie Soto (So., Santiago, Chile)
 
NOTES
-Fujioka and Palmen claimed first place titles in singles at the Ragin' Cajun Invitational last weekend, while Kohoutova and Soto earned second place in singles.
-The Bulldog Classic will be the season debut for Zolotareva and Martins.
-Palmen and Fujioka are 3-0 in singles play this fall.
-Zolotareva went 17-5 in singles last season, and Martins finished 13-6.
-In the last Samford-hosted event the Jaguars competed, they went 17-1 in singles and 5-4 in doubles. The event was held in October 2015.

-On how last weekend will carry over into Bulldog Classic: "It was nice to get some wins last week, and it's another opportunity this weekend to go out there and get a little bit stronger."
-On expectations for this weekend: "We are just trying to control what's on our side of the net, and right now, we have a lot to fix on our side."
