MOBILE, Ala. – Sophomores
Loic Cloes and
Clement Marzol will be competing at the 2017 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center beginning Monday (Oct. 2).
"This is the biggest tournament for them in the fall," head coach
Nick Brochu said. "If you go there and get a couple of big wins, it could set them up for a national ranking for the rest of the year."
Cloes and Marzol were both selected to begin competition in the qualifying round by passing the pre-qualifying round for both singles and doubles competition. The qualifying round will be played Oct. 2-3 with main draw competition beginning on Oct. 5.
Cloes is ranked No. 125 in the ITA preseason poll and finished last 23-3 in singles play earning all-Sun Belt Conference first-team honors in doubles and second-team honors in singles.
Marzol finished last season with a singles record of 23-6 and was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year last season.
"Once you're in the qualifying round, all of the players are ranked. It's a tough draw, but both guys are capable of getting into the main draw," Brochu said.
