MOBILE, Ala. – Phoebe Dowson — an all-Sun Belt Conference performer in track, student assistant with Jaguar Sports Properties and a recent University of South Alabama graduate — sat down with "Inside JagNation" for this week's installment of the official podcast of Jaguar Athletics.

In addition to earning all-league honors in the discus in 2014, the native of Ringwood, Hampshire, United Kingdom, qualified for the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round in the event each of the last two years, and contributed to USA claiming the Sun Belt women's outdoor track and field team title last spring.  Dowson set the school record in the discus with a 50.77-meter mark her junior year and also ranks among the top 10 on the school's all-time performance list in the hammer throw, and after the conclusion of her Jaguar career she completed an internship working with Athletic Marketing/Promotions.

She earned her undergraduate degree from South in leisure studies in December.

In the episode, Dowson discusses when she began competing in track and field, her interest in participating in the sport at the collegiate level and going through the recruiting process from overseas.  She also examines her progress as a student-athlete, how an injury nearly derailed her senior season, as well as her experience and favorite moment at South.

Dowson explains her interest in working in and her role with the athletic department, and her short- and long-term goals as well.
