NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama's Oct. 1 football game against San Diego State will be broadcast nationally on ESPNEWS, it was announced by the Sun Belt Conference office on Monday.
The contest, which will take place at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile after the Jaguars visited the Aztecs last fall, will kick off at 7 p.m. (CDT).
It marks the third time in the opening five weeks of the season that the Jags will have their game broadcast nationally, and the first of at least two on the ESPN family of networks; South is slated to play host to Troy in a match-up that can be seen on ESPNU on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Last fall, the Jaguars rallied for a 34-27 overtime victory over SDSU at Qualcomm Stadium in the first game of the home-and-home agreement.  The Aztecs — who have opened the year 3-0, with their last two wins coming over Cal in San Diego and at Northern Illinois — entered the Associated Press top 25 poll on Sunday.
