MANNIVA, Estonia – The University of South Alabama men's golf program had a pair of individuals make the cut at the European Amateur Championship, with rising junior Peter Staalbo finishing tied for 13th after Saturday's final round while incoming freshman Rasmus Karlsson was among the top 60 in the overall standings.

Staalbo carded scores of par or better all four days at the par-72, 6,454-yard Estonian Golf & Country Club Sea Course, highlighted by a 4-under-par 68 over the opening 18 holes.  With an 8-under-par 280 total, the native of Lejre, Denmark finished one stroke out of the top 10.

Staalbo carded five birdies on Wednesday, with three of those coming on par-five holes at Nos. 6, 15 and 18.  Following a second round that included three birdies and three bogeys, he recorded four birdies on each of the final two days of the event.  Staalbo ended the tournament with 16 total birdies, playing both par-four and par-five holes below par.

Karlsson — who signed with the Jaguars in November — began the championship with a 1-under-par 71 that featured a birdie-eagle start after posting a two on the 350-yard second hole.  He used a stretch of three consecutive birdies on Nos. 12-14 to finish with a 74 Thursday, making the cut with his low round of the tournament the next day, a 2-under-par 70.  Back-to-back birdies on Nos. 2 and 3 left Karlsson even at the turn, but he was able to card threes on the 14th and 16th to shoot 2 under on the back side of the course.

The Åminnefors, Finland, resident tacked on five birdies in Saturday's final round while finishing with another 74 for a 72-hole, 1-over-par 289 total.
