MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's tennis team is set to finish their fall schedule as they head to the Birmingham Country Club Invitational this weekend.
USA is sending seniors
Pierre Noyon (Oye-Plage, France) and
Juan Cruz Soria (San Juan, Argentina), junior
Oliver Gingras (Quebec City, Quebec, Canada), and sophomore
Lucas Gonzalez to compete in the event.
Soria has gone 7-3 in singles so far this fall, including a 3-1 finish at Battle of the Bayou on Oct. 7-8. Soria dropped UL Lafayette's Vlad Kramarov 6-3, 6-2 to secure third place in his flight.
Noyon has won his last three singles matches to give him a 6-2 record this fall. His last three victories came in the at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships on Oct. 14-16, finishing with a 6-3, 6-1 win over ULL's Arthur Libaud.
Samford serves as the host of the Birmingham CC Invitational. Other teams participating include Eastern Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, Troy, UAB, Tulane, Louisville and Lipscomb.
