Head Coach Terry Fowler
- On Genesis Perrymond entering her second year as the starting point guard:  "Genesis is such a smart kid.  She doesn't rush things and sees the floor.  She puts her teammates in a position to be successful.  It's like having a coach out on the floor."

- On what to expect from Candice Williams after she sat out last year:  "Candice hasn't really played since her senior year of high school.   Dealing with a few minor nagging injuries right now, she's a player who makes big shots such as at the end of games and shot clocks.  She has a knack to score baskets in crucial moments.  We need her to be a clutch scorer and help run the basketball team.  On the defensive end she's also a savvy on-ball defender, and will need to do it all for us."

- On how Shaforia Kines has looked so far:  "Shaforia has been a steady rock. She's a very smart basketball player and picks up things relatively easy.  As a point guard, she has the ability to score the basketball."

- On how the backup point guard rotation has filled out so far and the versatility of all the point guards:  "It's difficult to play three point guards, but we can have them play multiple positions because Candice and Genesis can move to the wing.  We have to figure out a way to put our best players out on the floor."

- On how the point guards will try to decrease the amount of turnovers committed from last year in the backcourt:  "I think the difference in this year's group from the past is everyone is comfortable and wants to handle the basketball. I think that's going to help us cut down on turnovers.  We have a goal set on that and we've been pretty close with that so far in practice.  It's a matter of us getting better, learning the system, knowing where people are going to be and delivering the pass."

- On the keys to making sure this group is successful for the team:  "The things we talk about maybe the most as a team is this group matures.  This is certainly a good collection of scorers, and we have to make sure the chemistry is there to get success."

Genesis Perrymond
- On her health going into the beginning of the season:  "I feel a lot healthier coming into this season.  The weight training program has definitely helped me out.  The strength I've added I think will really help my body through the season and keep me healthy hopefully."

-On her development entering year two as the starting point guard:  "I think I've been developing even more than I was in the first two years here.  (Assistant coaches) (Dan) Presel and (Mallory) Luckett do a great job in coaching the guards.  Candice has definitely helped push me in practice, and the same goes with Shaforia. All of the guards on the team really push each other to get stronger and better.  All of these people have pushed me are the ones making myself develop over the past few years."

- On what she and her fellow point guards have to do to limit the turnovers that hurt last year's team:  "Staying patient and not picking up the ball early will help us limit turnovers.  I think all of us are very smart.  We all have high basketball IQ's of the game and know how to play the game.  I think we won't be committing as many turnovers as last year."

- On what she will have to do to make sure the team is one of the better scoring teams in recent school history:  "I think for the point guards in order for us to score a lot more, we need to produce some of the increased scoring.  Whether it's shooting the open jumper or feeding the post players, we need to get the open player the ball for good scoring opportunities."
