JAGUAR FOOTBALL OPENS PRESEASON CAMP TUESDAY



MOBILE, Ala. – Tuesday night will mark the official opening of the 2015 campaign for the University of South Alabama football program, with the Jaguars slated to return to the field for the first time since making history that night.

Coming off the team's first-ever postseason bowl appearance — having faced Bowling Green at the inaugural Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in December — USA will practice for two hours beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CDT) at the James A. and Frances H. Yance Football Practice Facility.

The Jags will also workout out at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday before shifting to a morning schedule.  Practices on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are set for a 7:15 a.m. start and will run approximately two-and-a-half hours.

After an off day Sunday, Monday will mark the first two days with a pair of practices; the morning session will begin at 7:15 a.m. while the second workout is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.  The Jaguars will also conduct two practices on Thursday that week, with both sessions each day expected to last an hour-and-a-half.  Workouts the first full week of preseason camp will start at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday as well.

The first of two preseason scrimmages will take place on Saturday, Aug. 15, with the event set to open at 9 a.m., and the second will be conducted the following Saturday.  Both are scheduled to occur at off-campus facilities yet to be determined.

The Jaguars' annual Fan Day will be held at the Mitchell Center from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.

USA will open the season at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5, kicking off at 5 p.m. against Gardner-Webb.
