MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama football program will face a third opponent from the Mid-American Conference with Friday's announcement by Director of Athletics Dr. Joel Erdmann that the school has agreed to a home-and-home contract with Central Michigan.
The Jaguars will take on the Chippewas in Mount Pleasant on Sept. 10, 2022, while the following fall on Sept. 9 CMU will come to Mobile.
The first meeting is the third contest on the Jags' schedule that season, with USA set to face Bowling Green at home on Sept. 3 as well as visit UCLA Sept. 17.
The Jaguars first played a MAC opponent in 2011 when they fell at Kent State, but would go on to defeat the Golden Flashes during both the 2013 and '14 campaigns. Â The Jags have played BGSU as well, having taken on the Falcons while making their first-ever postseason bowl appearance at the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl last December.
USA and Bowling Green also have a two-game agreement in place for match-ups in 2021 and '22.
