MOBILE, Ala. –
Alexandria Stiteler has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the University of South Alabama women's tennis team for the 2015-16 season, head coach
Jaco Keyser announced Wednesday.
One of the top American juniors, Stiteler is ranked in the Women's Tennis Association's top 800.
"We are extremely excited to have Alex join us next fall," Keyser said. "Her playing background is very impressive. With her WTA ranking, and being one of the top juniors in the United States, it makes her one of the top prospects in the nation. More importantly, she is passionate about tennis and shares our vision to become an elite tennis program."
Originally from Boston, Mass., Stiteler has achieved a top 150 world ranking among juniors and is currently ranked No. 795 by the WTA.
In 2010, the current Bradenton, Fla. resident won four International Tennis Federation tournaments in a row before moving to Europe a year later to study, train and play in worldwide competitions.
