The purpose of this correspondence is to address portable stadium seats at South Alabama football games. 

There has recently been spirited discussion within the Jaguar Nation from both sides of this issue (size of the seats in relation to intrusion of neighboring spectator’s space).   Moving forward there will be no checking of seat size at the stadium gates.  Seats such as these will be left to the discretion of the fan and we trust that courtesy and respect for adjacent spectators will prevail.  If a customer feels intruded upon they may reach out to a stadium usher or contact ticket sales personnel in an anonymous fashion (251-461-1USA or tickets@usouthal.edu) and representatives will intervene appropriately.  

Please keep in mind seating areas are approximately 17 ½ inches in width and portable seats should have back support that is vertical in nature thus not impacting the legroom of those people behind. 

This approach will be used until circumstances warrant reexamination.

A positive fan experience at our games is tremendously important.  In addition to the fan experience is the simple presence of fans in those seats that enjoy a great college football environment and cheer on the Jaguars.
