Myles Corey Transfers to South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama men's basketball head coach Richie Riley announced the signing of Myles Corey Sunday Morning. Corey transfers to the Jaguars with one year of eligibility remaining. 

Corey, a 6-foot 185-pound guard, joins the Jaguars after spending the last four seasons playing at NAIA Jessup University in Rocklin, Calif. Corey is a two-time NAIA All-American Honorable Mention and a three-time first-team All-Golden State Athletic Conference honoree. In the 2023-24 season, Corey averaged 17.0 points, 3.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals,  to help lead the Trojans to a GSAC semi-final appearance and an at-large bid in the NAIA Tournament. He recorded 26 games in double figures, including a career-high 32 points against Montana-State Northern. He finished the year ranked Top 5 in the GSAC in points, assists, steals, and field goal percentage. 

 In total Corey started 103 games in four years for Jessup, shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from three-point range in his career. 

An Ontario Calif. native, Corey attended Diamond Bar High School and helped lead the Brahmas to back-to-back Mt. Baldy League Championships. Additionally, he earned All-Mt. Baldy League First Team and All-CIF Second Team honors in his junior and senior seasons. 

Corey is the seventh transfer addition to the Jaguars 2024 recruiting class and the third signee this week. He joins Barry Dunning, Dylan Fasoyiro, Randy Brady, Jayden Cooper, Cantia Rahming, and JJ Wheat.
