MOBILE, Ala. | Coming off a pair of individual and team victories at their first meet of the season, the South Alabama Cross Country men's and women's teams will compete at the North Alabama Showcase Friday morning. The men's 8k race will take place at 7:30 a.m. (CT) at John Hunt Park with the women's 5k event to follow at 8:15 a.m.

Pre-Race Notes
•    Friday marks the second straight fall that South Alabama has competed at a meet hosted by North Alabama
•    John Hunt Cross Country Running Park will serve as the site of the NCAA South Regional Championships scheduled for Nov. 11
•    Yego and Flanagan led the South men at last fall's UNA meet and placed inside the top 10, finishing fourth and ninth, respectively
•    Friday will mark the duo's season debut as they did not run in the Azalea City Classic
•    Yego set a new personal best in the 8k (23:47.39) on the course, and his time was the ninth fastest run by a male Jaguar runner in the 8k, eclipsing former South runner Tonny Okello's time of 23:54 ran at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. (9/29/06)
•    The redshirt-sophomore holds three career victories and has finished 13th or better in nine of his 11 career races
•    Johnson enters the race after winning the 5k last weekend and earning Sun Belt Runner of the Week honors on Wednesday
•    Magaud – who led the Jaguar women at the meet last fall – also enters the 5k event after picking up SBC Runner of the week honors 
•    Both Johnson and Magaud won their respective races at the Azalea City Classic 
•    The victory for Magaud was the second of her career as she as now recorded 11 top 30 finishes in her 15 career races
