JAGUAR TRACK AND FIELD BREAKS TWO SCHOOL RECORDS AT BLAZER INVITATIONAL

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Dorian Curry and Kyle Rademeyer both broke school records and won their respective events while the University of South Alabama's track and field team took 13 top-five finishes at the UAB Blazer Invitational Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Curry, a sophomore, took first place and broke his own school record in the high jump with a height of 2.11m (6-11). Rademeyer, a freshman, took the victory in the pole vault while breaking his own program and conference records with a 5.56m (18-2.75) height. Five other student-athletes moved up or into the Jaguar record books as well.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S FIELD NOTES
- Curry broke his own program record and set a personal record while winning the high jump with a 2.11m (6-11) mark.
- Freshman Sebastian Loschner climbed to seventh in the program record books with a 16.04m (52-7.5) shot put throw and finished 12th.
- Fifth-year senior Riley Caudill recorded a 3.81m (12-06) mark in the pole vault and moved to fourth in the Jaguar record books, tying fellow Jaguar field performer Ina Edstrom's record.
- Collette Uys moved into third in the program record books with a 14.80m (48-6.75) shot put throw, placing fourth and set a personal best in the weight throw (16.17m).
- Christian Ellis placed fourth in the triple jump, recording a 15.13m (49-7.75) attempt. 
- Kiara Risher took the runner-up spot in the high jump, posting a mark of 1.71m (5-7.5) and now sits at fifth in the South Alabama career list in the event.
- Rademeyer took the victory in the pole vault while breaking his own school and conference records with a height of 5.56m (18-2.75).

MEN'S/WOMEN'S RUNNING NOTES
- Junior Charlie Slaughter (4:20.36) and senior Giacomo DeLuca III (4:22.72) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the mile.
- Slaughter also placed fifth in the 1000m race, posting a time of 2:31.94.
- Kirami Yego took second place in the 3000m with a personal-best time of 8:25.23.
- Sophomore Adele Magaud recorded a fourth-place finish and smashed her personal record in the 3000m (9:52.58) moving into fifth in the program record books with the time.
- The men's 4 x 200 relay team with Josh Norris, Kendal White, Antuan Crowder and Tashod Wingfield placed second with a time of 1:32.44
- The women's 4 x 200 relay team with Cierra Hedrick, Kaitlyn Knight, Alexis Gratia and Shateaya Ligon took fifth clocking a 1:45.37 time. 
- Josie Pry, Gracie Wolf, Shay Lee and Ariana Ruffin ran the 4 x 400 relay in 4:04.43, placing fifth.

- On Curry and Rademeyer: "Obviously any time you set a record in the first meet of the season it is a good thing. If they can stay healthy and keep improving they will have a shot of being quite strong this season."
