USA TRACK & FIELD CLOSES OUT WEEKEND AT THE TIGER TRACK CLASSIC

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's and women's track and field programs closed out the weekend, with 10 student-athletes earning top-three finishes at the Tiger Track Classic on Saturday evening.

NOTES
- Rickssen Opont broke his school record in the shot put, with his 18.54m mark claiming first place in the event. His 50.53m effort in the discus throw also ranks 10th in program history.
- Onesmus Kemboi won the 1500m race after crossing the line at 3:59.21, while Lance Cunnigan followed in second place with a career-best time of 4:00.50.
- Redshirt Freshman Francois Prinsloo finished second in the discus throw (56.16m), with his mark ranking third in Jaguar history. Sebastian Loschner placed third in the same event, with his 51.79m distance being the eighth-best on South's all-time list.
- Noah Mumme took third place in the pole vault with a 4.95m leap.
- The 4 x 100 medley relay team consisting of Javen Jackson, Keith David, Xavier Rogers and Josh Norris, placed third with a time of 41.06s.
- The 4 x 400 medley race team, including Cam Stewart, Joey Zayszly, Jackson and Rogers, ran a 3:14.76 race for a fourth-place finish.
- Rogers also placed fifth in the 400m after recording a career-best time of 47.99s.
- Hunter Appling claimed fifth in the 100m hurdles after running a time of 14.24s.
- Dorian Curry's 2.05m height in the high jump is the 10th-highest on USA's all-time performance list.
- Bodine Degli-Umberti claimed fourth in the discus throw with a 48.28m distance.
- Kiara Risher's height in the high jump (1.66m) was good enough for a fifth-place finish.
- Seven Jaguars recorded personal-bests in their respective events: Opont (shot put and discus throw), Prinsloo (shot put), Loschner (discus throw), Liam McGowan (400m), Lance Cunnigan (1500m), Rogers (400m) and Josie Pry (400m hurdles).
- South Alabama overall had 13 student-athletes place in the top-three at the Tiger Track Classic.

UP NEXT
- The Jaguars will compete in two meets this weekend: Texas Relays in Austin, Tx and the Raleigh Relays Raleigh, NC., with both competitions scheduled for March 24-27.

- On the Tiger Track Classic: "We saw some very good competition this weekend. Overall, I thought our athletes competed well and in some cases very well. We always want to see our athletes setting personal bests when they compete, and we had several student-athletes do that at Auburn."
