Stanescu was a first-team all-Sun Belt Conference selection his senior year and chosen the Most Outstanding Player of the 2000 league tourney after leading the Jags to the championship game.  In addition to winning the Sun Belt regular-season title that year, he helped lead the Jaguars to the league’s West Division championship and a berth in the National Invitation Tournament as a senior.  Stanescu ranks 12th in school history with 1,126 points and sixth with 648 rebounds, while his 278 rebounds as a senior are the tied for the eighth-highest total on the USA season record list.  Stanescu — who was twice named to the league’s all-tournament team — led the team in scoring and rebounding each of his last two years as USA posted a 42-21 overall record and 24-8 mark in SBC action during that span, also topping the Jags in field-goal percentage in 1999 and blocks in ’00.
