Travis Swaggerty's career got off to a hot start when he was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball. This was thanks to being ranked second in the SBC in walks, stolen bases and steal attempts and third in on-base percentage. That same season, he was named to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional All-Tournament Team. The production continued into year two when he was named Second Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association, and also earned First Team South Central All-Region by the ABCA and First Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors. During his junior season, he was named First Team All-Sun Belt and First Team All-ABCA. After his stellar career with the Jags, he became the fifth baseball player in school history to be selected in the first round of the MLB Draft when Pittsburgh drafted him 10th overall.
