Terry Catledge had his number (23) retired in March, 1985… Concluded his career at South Alabama by scoring 1,866 points and 932 rebounds (19.8 RBG) to rank as the Jag’s best on the all-time rebounding list… In 86 games played (83 started), he had 62 assists, 56 blacks and 94 steals … he recorded 30 points or more seven times, 20 or more total of 54 times and scored in double digits a total of 82 times. He had 15 or more rebounds a total of 11 times and holds the Sun Belt record of 25 vs. UNC-Charlotte in 1985… His season records at South Alabama include: most points, 718; most field goals, 285; most field goal attempts, 536; most free throws, 157; most free throw attempts, 536; and most rebounds, 332… Accolades include: All-America Honorable Mention by the Sporting News, Associated Press, Basketball Times, and Basketball Weekly, Sun Belt Player of the Year, Sun Belt Senior of the Year, First Team All-Sun Belt, First Team All-Sun Belt, First Team All-South by Basketball Weekly and Basketball Times, two-time Sun Belt Player of the Year…  a member of the All-Decade Team during the Sun Belt’s 10th Anniversary… He was a first round selection of the Philadelphia 76ers (number 21 overall) in 1985.
