One of the University of South Alabama’s first stand out baseball players… A four-year letter winner he led the team in hitting in 1969 and 1970, batting .362 and .386 respectively… He set the four-year batting average mark at .368… He also set single season record in stolen bases and RBI… He had 27 stolen bases and 28 RBI in 1970.. Drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1971... As a coach, led the Jaguars to a 1,052-644-1 (62%) overall record in 28 seasons... Guided USA to 18 NCAA Regional appearances, coming within one game of advancing to the NCAA College World Series on six occasions.
