Coach of the Men’s Soccer Team from 1980-95… Began the women’s program and was Director of Soccer/Coach from 1994-95… Posted and 18-year men’s record of 202-81-20 (.700 winning percentage) which included 13 winning seasons (11 straight with 10 wins or more)… Men’s team was Sun Belt Champions from 1991-95 and he was named SBC Coach of the Year in 1981, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994… Reached the 200-win plateau vs. Texas-Pan American in the 1995 SBC Tournament… Member of the NCAA Tournament Regional Selection Committee from 1990-93… Began women’s program in 1994 and compiled a two-year record of 21-12-2 (.610)… In 1995, USA’s second women’s soccer program was ranked eighth in the NCAA Central Regional after a 10-7-2 record… Served as state regional coach in the State Olympic Development Program in 1990 and was the commissioner of the soccer portion of the Alabama Sports Festival… Provided the Mobile/Baldwin County area middle and high schools’ programs with student-athlete coaches… Received his master’s degree in exercise technology from South Alabama in 1982… Was honored on June 26, 1996 by Mobile Mayor Michael C. Dow and the Mobile City Council as the City of Mobile declared “Roy Patton Day”.
