Mencnarowska, the first female in South Alabama history to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships after making the field in the 100-meter hurdles, helped the Jaguars to their first-ever Sun Belt Conference championships at the 1999 indoor and outdoor meets. She was selected the Outstanding Meet Performer and earned top-scoring honors at the ‘99 SBC Outdoor Championships after winning the heptathlon and long jump, finishing third in the javelin and tying for fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. In all, Mencnarowska would earn all-league honors on eight occasions — five outdoor, three indoor — in the 55-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles, javelin, long jump and heptathlon, and go on to be named to the Sun Belt’s 30th Anniversary All-Time Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams. She ended her career with the league record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.35 seconds — still a school standard in the event — and remains among the top 10 in USA history in the heptathlon, 60-meter hurdles, javelin and long jump. Mencnarowska was also voted third-team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 1998 and named to the SBC Commissioner’s All-Academic List each of her last three seasons.
