A native of Fayette, Alabama… Coached the South Alabama men’s basketball team from 1971-75… Second coach of the Jaguars…. Freshman Coach in 1968 and was an assistant in 1969 and 1970… Overall record was 76-53 (57-17 home and 19-36 road)… Had first 20-win program at South Alabama in 1974 2h3n the Jaguars finished with a 22-6 record… His 1974 team also recorded more home wins in the Civic Center than any other Jag team in history with 19 in 20 games… Had winning teams in four of five years… Third-winningest coach… Also coached men’s tennis team from 1968-70… Combined for a 36-10 record in men’s tennis.
