Campbell lettered three times in track and twice in cross country for the Jaguars, earning a total of 10 all-Sun Belt Conference honors while becoming the school’s first-ever NCAA Championship qualifier and All-American in cross country.  In his first season with the program, he finished second at the league cross country championship to help South win the team title, going on to place 32nd at the NCAA Championship to earn All-America honors, while that spring he was all-Sun Belt in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000 meters after finishing second and third, respectively, at the outdoor championship.  Campbell won the 5,000-meter run and was second in the 3,000 meters at the 1993 SBC Indoor Championship, coming in second in the 5,000 meters at the conference outdoor meet that season, then as a senior helped the Jags win the cross country title again with a second-place finish individually.  In his final year on the track, Campbell recorded a runner-up performance in the 5,000-meter run at the league’s indoor championship, winning at that distance at the outdoor meet while adding a second-place finish in the steeplechase.  For his efforts, Campbell was selected to the Sun Belt Conference’s 30th Anniversary All-Time Men’s Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams.
