Jan Hermansson was a four-year letterman in men’s tennis at South Alabama from 1993-96. He was named to the Sun Belt Conference’s 30-Year Anniversary Team in 2006 after earning all-league honors each of his four seasons – at singles in 1993 and 1994 and in both singles and doubles in 1995 and 1996. He is one of only two players in school history to earn All-America honors in both singles and doubles, gaining the awards in singles twice (1994 and 1996) and in doubles play in 1996. He was named the Most Valuable Player at the 1995 and 1996 Sun Belt Conference Tournaments and was the consolation champion in singles at the 1995 Volva All-American Tournament. During his career, South Alabama won four straight SBC singles Championships.
