A member of the Sun Belt Conference’s 30th Anniversary All-Time Men’s Tennis Team, Babej was twice named an All-American in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. As a junior, he became the first Jaguar ever to reach the semifinals of the NCAA Championships before ending the season ranked 17th in the country in singles and 49th in doubles. Babej posted a 32-3 mark his senior season, which included a 26-match win streak, finishing the year 16th in the nation in singles after winning his first two NCAA matches. He was voted first-team all-Sun Belt in singles both years he was with the program, adding all-conference honors in doubles his junior season, and was named the SBC Player of the Week eight times during his two-year career. Babej concluded his Jaguar career singles record of 39-5 in dual matches and 62-10 overall.
