Estelle Gevers lettered at South Alabama from 1993-1996… A member of the Sun Belt Conference’s 30th Anniversary All-Time Women’s Tennis Team, she was selected All-Time Player in league history… During her career, she was a three-time Sun Belt Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player and earned all-conference honors in singles and doubles all four years at USA… Gevers helped the Lady Jags to four SBC championships and one berth in NCAA Tournament, and was invited to the 1995 and 1996 NCAA Doubles Championships… As a senior, she ended the year ranked 24th nationally in doubles after finishing her junior season ranked 11th in the country in doubles and 83rd in singles… Gevers also ranked 50th in the nation in singles as a freshman, ending the year ninth in the South Region doubles rankings… She was named the league’s player of the week on one occasion and selected to the Sun Belt Commissioner’s All-Academic List three times, earning the league’s Academic Medallion in 1996.
