Kenney is a member of the Sun Belt Conference’s 30th Anniversary All-Time Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams and earned all-league recognition 12 times during her career from 1992-1994. As a senior, Kennedy was selected the Outstanding Performer at the 1994 SBC Indoor Championships after winning the 3,000- and 5,000-meter races, while finishing second in the mile run; she would go on to the win 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs as well as place second in the 10,000 meters at the league outdoor championships that spring. In addition to setting two Sun Belt Championship meet records during her career, she remains the school record holder in the outdoor 5,000 and 10,000 meter.
