JAG BASEBALL SIGNEE EARNS GOLD GLOVE AWARD

Adam Ballew won a 2013 Rawlings NJCAA Division I Gold Glove after an errorless season at Southern Union State (Ala.) Community College.




MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – University of South Alabama signee Adam Ballew was named to the 2013 Rawlings National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Gold Glove Team, announced Wednesday by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Ballew, who will join the Jaguar program in the fall after two seasons as an outfielder at Southern Union State (Ala.) Community College, did not commit an error in 116 chances this season. He hit .395 with 12 doubles, six triples, one home run, 18 RBI, 49 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in 53 games.

It marks the second consecutive year a Jaguar signee has won a Rawlings Gold Glove. Current USA third baseman Bud Collura won the award as a freshman at Clark (Wash.) Junior College.
